The noodle house is a vibrant casual dining restaurant where chefs prepare authentic South-east Asian dishes over an open flame and in full view of the guests.
Whenever me and my friends crave for something Asian, we always think of this restaurant. It’s because we’ve tried and tested the food already and they have strategically located branches at the malls and near our office. In this particular review, we went to the one in Gloria Hotel as it is the closest branch to us. They offer quite a selection of starters. We always order the crispy calamari and duck pot stickers. I would personally recommend these as they are tasty and are always cooked perfectly. For vegetarians, they can try the spring rolls and the duck pot comes with a vegetarian version as well. They also offer crackers which I think should be complimentary. Like seriously, how much does this cost?
My officemate ordered Dan Dan noodles which is a dish originating from Chinese Sichuan cuisine. It looks appetizing and obviously it’s good for just one person. It consists of a spicy sauce with preserved vegetables, mustard stems, chili oil, pepper, minced pork, and scallions served over noodles. The texture of the noodles were just right, they look like pasta to me. In the menu it said it’s spicy but my officemate did not find it spicy enough. I don’t think he enjoyed it that much although he said it tasted ok.
We also ordered the newest item in the menu which is the Japanese beef brisket. For those who know their stuff, brisket can be cooked many ways. It should be tender and not too stringy like this one. It tastes fine though and although I will not really recommend this, you can try it for yourself as you might like it.
The last item that we ordered is the safest choice which is Nasi Goreng. When translated, it literally means fried rice and is called the national dish of Indonesia. It basically is just stir fried rice that includes egg, chicken and prawns. It looks appealing and you can never go wrong when your order this one. The chicken satay completely complements the fried rice.
Overall, I would suggest you try eating here if you haven’t already. The staff are attentive and listens to the order carefully. The ambiance also is great and they draw a huge crowd even if we come during lunch most of the time. It takes about 15-20 minutes for the food to be served and it always looks clean which is a big deal for me. For the price, I think it’s not cheap but it’s affordable to a little bit expensive for some. For example, the Nasi Goreng is priced at AED53 and the Dan Dan Noodles at AED55. If you ever crave for authentic southeast asian dishes, then the Noodle House is definitely a must-try. 👌🏼
