When three overworked and under-appreciated moms are pushed beyond their limits, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long overdue freedom, fun, and comedic self-indulgence.
First of all, this movie should never be watched by kids because of the use of profanity and raunchy words and punchlines. If you are the conservative type and the use of the f word turns you off, then this movie is not for you. I never thought I would enjoy watching this movie as much as I did though. It was a lot of fun, the story was coherent with very little to almost no dull moment, except that everything was predictable with a few surprises in between.
The story is about 3 working moms who just can’t get a hold of everything and are basically not living their lives because of their day to day chores and responsibilities. I think everyone can relate to this movie because we all have moms who love us unconditionally and will do everything to ensure that their children is able live the life that they wanted for them.
I like Mila Kunis in this movie. I have seen some of her movies and I feel like she’s underrated. She can do much more but she just haven’t been given a break. In this movie, she shines and she’s not trying hard to look like a regular mom, partly because she’s now a mother in real life. The supporting actors were good as well but I just didn’t like Jada Pinkett’s acting. I don’t have an idea why she’s cast in this movie or maybe the role wasn’t fit for her. The rest of the actors were good and believable nevertheless.
What I liked most about this movie is the soundtrack and that on every scene, there’s always a background music that suits the moment. Whoever did the scoring knows his music too well. I also admired the colors all throughout the film and it made the movie look current and new.
With all the points considered, I have to say Bad Moms is not a bad film. It’s a simple, light comedy film with a lot of heart. At the end of the day, the movie will make you realize how hard it is to be a mom and how we all take them for granted knowing that they will always be there for us. It also reminds us that although it’s expected that moms will provide and care for their children, we also should learn to appreciate them and don’t disregard the fact that it’s a lifelong task that will never end. And disregarding all the bad reviews and comments from the critics, I believe Bad Moms is a great movie, a hilarious one that anyone can relate to and will make you appreciate the sacrifices of our mothers. It’s silly, compelling and certainly one of the good comedy films I’ve seen this year. 🙋🏻
