Caliburger, Jumeirah

Caliburger is a burger joint bringing that all-out California spirit and lifestyle to you in a setting that says, “This is me. This is who I am.” Sit down. Take out. However you like to enjoy it is fine.

I went in to try this branch in Jumeirah on a Friday afternoon when it’s not busy. It is located at the Jumeirah Road near Kite Beach. They have very limited parking spaces and they were all occupied so had to look for the parking space allocated at the back which is probably 2 minutes away from the store.

As you enter the place, you will feel like it’s an extension of the beach. The interior is painted with light hues of blue and pink with skateboard and surfboards as decor pieces hanging on the wall. There is also a huge screen on the left showing the leaderboard of Gem Jump, a game that you can download and play on your phone and can simultaneously be played on the big screen. I tried it and I enjoyed myself like a kid on Christmas trying out a gaming console for the first time.

The menu is simple with limited choices. They offer salad but of only 1 kind, they only have fries, mozzarella sticks and onion rings as appetizers and probably around 6 variations of burgers. They also have desserts and shakes plus soda and ice tea and mojito-like drinks. Not that I’m complaining about the variety but maybe they only offer this assortment to make it easier for diners to choose and easier for the staff to prepare as well.

As you can see in the picture, they have an open kitchen which means food are prepared as they are ordered and you can see the cleanliness and that they follow hygiene and food safety standards.

When the food was served, I instantly noticed that the ingredients were fresh and you get a feeling that it’s clean, especially the avocado in the salad and the beef patty in the burger. They recommend their wild sauce that goes well with everything including the fries but I would recommend the lotus milkshake. It’s packaged simply but tastes heavenly.

When it comes to the service, I have to commend the staff as each one of them was well trained and was knowledgeable about the products that they are offering. I like it when you ask someone from the restaurant and they can give you good recommendations on what to have especially if you’re trying it for the first time. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes and I was happy with everything that I tried in conjunction with the great service and the friendly staff.

In conclusion, I had a great time dining and playing at the Jumeirah branch of Caliburger. The food were moderately priced and I like the cool and friendly atmosphere of the place. I would suggest though that they put up a sign that says “More parking at the back” to let customers know that there is space allocated for them because if they find it difficult to park, then they might just look for another place to eat. I have no other criticism except for that but I think they can improve the menu even more. They should come up with new items and brainstorm on new ideas so they can keep the loyal customers and possibly gain new ones.
