Aseelah is an Emirati restaurant that just recently opened its doors for arabic food hungry diners in Deira Creek. I am familiar with the restaurant because having been open for only a few months, they have already won the Best Interior award in the recently concluded Catering News ME’s Leaders in F&B awards. And of course when the opportunity to come and visit the restaurant arose, I didn’t have second thoughts.
The Entertainer organized a meetup and invited some of Dubai’s bloggers to celebrate National Day last night. It was nice to see some familiar faces and new ones as well. It was a fun night and we were treated to a selection of the best food that Aseelah offers.
Aseelah welcomes guests with a unique interior, comfortable seating, private dining rooms, a modern bar with beats from an in-house DJ and a spacious terrace with lounge seating offering great views of the Dubai Skyline. As I entered the restaurant, I instantly knew why it won the Best Interior award. The decor screams arabic or emirati with brown hues all over. It was very welcoming and everything was just spotless. 👌🏼
To welcome diners, they offer their own version of saffron water which was very refreshing and had a great aftertaste.
We had a set menu and first up was Aseelah’s Cream cheese and date bread. It was warm when served and we saw that it was actually fresh from the oven. We then had the beetroot carpaccio and chicken vermicelli soup.
Then they let us try the Camel sliders which I really liked, surprisingly. The meat is tender and doesn’t have an aftertaste unlike the lamb.
Lastly, we had the Luqaimat or the fried emirati sweet with date syrup and another assortment of desserts. Some of the bloggers were hesitant about the camel sliders but I really liked it and all the other food that was served to us.
I have no complaints about the service as they were all attentive and catered to all of our needs. The restaurant manager, Mohamed Sayed was also very hands on and made sure everything was faultless. He also explained to me that a lot of people come in the hotel for the exquisite dining experience at their f&b outlets and I definitely agree with him. Aseelah is an experience not just in dining but also of the warm Arabic hospitality.
To sum up, we had a great night last night at Aseelah and I’m definitely coming back and recommending this to all my friends. Through its unique menu combination of the old and the new, Aseelah takes guests on a journey from Dubai’s humble roots to today’s modern achievements. I believe Aseelah will easily be a favorite place and a leader when it comes to Arabic cuisine because it represents the best of Dubai’s culture, its unique taste and flavours and at the same time the best of Arabic hospitality, which this country is well known for.
