Manila Grill, Asiana Hotel

One of the things that I love about living in Dubai is the availability of Filipino food and products almost everywhere. I used to ask my relatives and friends coming back from the Philippines for some of the food that are not sold here simply because you cannot find it anywhere. But that was before. Now, almost everything is at one’s disposal, including pork.

Manila Grill is tucked inside the Filipino-frequented hideaway, the 5-star Asiana Hotel in Deira. The restaurant specifically focuses on all Filipino favourites including pork, beef, poultry and seafood.

I have been to this place a lot of times but it is only today that I am actually reviewing it for the benefit of those who have no idea about this place but curious enough to know what they can expect when they dine in here.

For starters, Manila Grill has stylish and cozy dining interiors, luxurious private vip rooms, chic full bar set up, soothing live music and a wood charcoal grill. As soon as you enter the place, you will be greeted by of course, Filipino waiters and staff. It’s almost like fine dining except they don’t have wines and sommeliers.

Open for lunch and dinner with special combo and group packages, Manila Grill can cater for any events and is good for families as well as friends and associates. Check out the food that we ordered and I don’t think any explanation is needed for these. They all taste like authentic filipino dishes and it’s the closest thing you can get to going back home in the Philippines.

The price point is affordable to reasonable and for a taste of home, you are definitely getting your money’s worth here. The staff are attentive, the place is orderly and quiet, you might think twice if you’re actually in Deira or not. It’s a great place to catch up with friends and colleagues while enjoying the best  dishes from the Philippines.

To sum up, Manila Grill is definitely not your average Filipino eatery in this side of Dubai. It has all the makings of a fine dining restaurant but the good thing is that they serve everything Filipino. If you’re a Filipino and you haven’t tried it yet, I recommend you to go so at least it can minimize your homesickness. If you are not from the Philippines, I also urge you to go because I am sure you will also enjoy all the dishes here in Manila Grill. It’s like an introduction to our beautiful country if ever you haven’t been or you’re planning to visit.
