Bean There Bistro is an aptly named restaurant, bar and café rolled into one. It is nicely tucked just on the left wing of the Millennium Airport Hotel in Garhoud and features a spacious outdoor seating area and a very eco-friendly design of the interior.
They are open from 8am to serve breakfast and lunch and they don’t close until 2am for diners to enjoy some drinks and shisha till late.
As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will immediately feel like you’re inside a library. They have a display of popular books (that you can read as well) and chairs and tables made of wood. If you want to stay longer, there are also couches provided and you will be happy to know that there are electrical outlets available for you to charge your laptop and other gadgets.
Before ordering, we first asked the waiter for his recommendations. And before suggesting what to order, he told us that they serve alcohol as well and they even have a happy hour where they offer 33% off on all the drinks. It came as a surprise to us because we actually thought that it was just a regular coffee shop but it turns out that they are more than that.
We then ordered some starters first. The waiter suggested the Bacon wrapped dates which are a hit with the locals and we also tried their famous Crab cakes and Calamari.
They offered the appetizers in small plates and so we thought of ordering some main courses to continue. We ordered the Crispy half chicken, Salmon beurre blanc, Bangers and mash and I wanted to try of course their version of the Lasagna. While waiting for the food, I wasn’t able to help myself and took a lot of pictures. The whole place was just Instagram-worthy including the washroom! I also like the fact that the whole area smelled new and everything was just in order and it looked pleasant.

With regards to the food, I have to say I really like the mains that we ordered. My only comment is that I think they can still improve on the taste. For example, for the calamari, the dip had wasabi on it and it left an aftertaste in my mouth that I didn’t like. They should at least have that option to not have wasabi on the dip if the customer doesn’t want it. And then the chicken although tasted good outside was a bit bland on the inside. But these are just minor observations that I believe they can easily fix and should not overpower all the good bits that the restaurant offers.
For the dessert, we just ordered the red velvet cake and a fruit salad with blueberry ice cream. I’m telling you, if you must order just one item on their menu, make it the red velvet cake. It’s so good, it made the drive from Media City to Garhoud worth it.
The service at Bean There Bistro was also excellent and every waiter was very helpful and accommodating. The prices also are reasonable and range from 30-60 per order. If you look at the restaurant, you might also have an idea to host a party here. It is very homey and you have a lot of space to move around.
Overall, we really enjoyed dining at Bean There Bistro. I believe what separates them from all the other bars and restaurants is that they offer almost everything in here and the place is just cozy for everyone to revel in. The fact that it is very easy to find and the availability of ample parking spaces and even free valet parking makes it a foodie’s favorite hotspot. I will definitely be back for sure when I’m craving great food and a relaxing atmosphere away from all the noise of the outside world.
