Brothaus is the new German bakery – bistro located at the Steigenberger Hotel in Business Bay. They are open as early as 7:30 in the morning for guests to enjoy fresh brewed coffee and the best German breads and bakery treats for breakfast.
But not just a breakfast place, Brothaus is also ideal for lunch or dinner and you can dine in their beautifully decorated indoor seating area or dine al fresco outside their gorgeous terrace with views of the Dubai Water Canal.
We visited the place on a Friday morning and it was a bit busy considering we were early. When you enter, you will love the smell of freshly baked bread coming out of the kitchen and you will see the chefs preparing some pastries and salads.
I was told that they are pretty famous for their all day breakfast offerings so we checked the menu to see what we can have. Sharon, the waitress for the day helped us in our selection. She had a very pleasant personality and it was very nice to be greeted by someone like her in the morning. The manager, Mark also checked on us quite a few times and we really appreciate the fact that they care for their customers.
Sharon suggested some of their bestsellers and we ended up ordering the Brothaus benedict which consists of 2 poached eggs on toasted onion bread with braised beef and we also ordered the Farmyard breakfast made up of turkey ham omelet, roasted potato, onion and veal Nürnberger sausages with toast.
We also had the power granola, a granola mix, natural yoghurt, forest honey, goji berries, acai powder and roasted nuts. To complete the meal, we ordered the Apfelpfannkuchen or in layman’s term, German pancakes with roasted apples, cinnamon sugar and roasted almond flakes.
There’s really not a lot to be said about the food except that they are served fresh and they taste really good. This is probably one of the best breakfasts I have ever had because it borders on tasty and healthy at the same time.
You can also never go wrong with the location as it is very convenient, spacious, well lit and ventilated. Parking is also easy because you can valet park in front of the hotel or beside the restaurant at the back.
All in all, I really enjoyed this breakfast and I’m 100% sure I will come back soon and it’s highly likely for me to recommend it to my friends. I’m pretty lucky to find a casual, friendly sharing place with great food and drinks through Brothaus. If you’re near the hotel, you’ll be pleased to know that they also offer Business Lunch for only AED 50 and there’s also a Sweet Happy Hour which means you get 50% off on bakery treats and pastry after 6pm everyday.
