Fountain is a restaurant located in the Bur Dubai branch of the Movenpick Hotel chain. You will not miss it as it just on the ground floor on your left as you enter the property.
Design wise, it’s nice, clean and neat but not as impressive as the other restaurants that I have been to. They said the design is for the daylight to come through the atrium but I visited at night so there was obviously no sun in sight and because of the open design that can be seen through the lobby, I felt like there was no exclusivity when dining. But maybe that was just me.
Anyway, me and my friends came to the restaurant to try the Grill night which is their promotion every Thursday. Their grill night is unique because they focus on live cooking stations from around the world along with open buffet for some international dishes.
To start with, the waiters offered us some drinks and there were also some roving waiters offering appetizers and small bites. The ambiance was lively which is what I wanted and I have to mention that the staff were pleasant and looked like they were enjoying what they’re doing.
When it comes to the food, I have to admit that I was delighted with the choices because they are not the usual things that you can see in a regular buffet. They have a unique selection of appetizers and the live cooking station was a hit. I’m impressed at how they were able to handle the orders in time considering the fact that there were a lot of guests during that night.
And again, I’m pleased with how scrumptious the food was because, to be honest, I didn’t really set high expectations for this one. I really enjoyed the grill night and I liked the fact that I was able to try at least every single one of their offering.
This particular theme night is child-friendly and you can definitely bring the whole family with you to enjoy the food especially the desserts where I saw kids having a good time at the marshmallow and chocolate counter.
I ended the night with some desserts which were nothing short of amazing. As I’m writing this, all I can think of is the Smores cheesecake and the Lindt chocolates that were melting slowly during that night. The chef also prepared some vanilla inspired desserts for us since the whole Movenpick chain is currently promoting the Vanilla Saleé menu.
To sum up, the grill night at Fountain restaurant was definitely satisfying and it’s something that I can really recommend if you’re looking to have a nice dinner or if you’re just looking for good food that doesn’t disappoint. I believe they can improve the interior design but overall, the food was top notch and service was excellent so it gets a thumbs up from me. 👍🏻
