Peppermill is an Indian restaurant located in the newly opened waterfront at the Dubai Festival City Mall. Together with the other recently launched restaurants in the strip, the place offers unparalleled views of the lights, water, fire, and fountain show. I’m sure it’s one of the reasons why people would want to dine at the restaurant but I found out that there are more when I tried dining one evening.
When you enter, you will immediately feel like you’re transported to a different location reminiscent of a place in India. There are private dining areas as you walk towards the terrace and the indoor dining area is huge enough to accommodate large groups. The colors were also nice and absolutely added to the authenticity of the place.
We started ordering some drinks and judging by the presentation and how they tasted, we already knew we were in for a treat. Each one of us ordered a different drink and we all liked what we have.
Then we had soup and again, different types so we can have a taste of each and as expected, they were really good.
And then we ordered some starters and although they were the same dishes as with every Indian restaurant, they gave it the Peppermill treatment which means it had a different twist and were bursting with flavors.
Soon enough, we ordered the mains and by this time, I must say I’m already full and thought I couldn’t eat anymore but I was wrong.
When the mains were served, firstly, it smelled really nice and the aroma made me think I’m starving and after taking a few pictures, we started devouring them.
We ordered their famous kataifi prawns, chicken biryani, and mixed grill. Honestly, everything that we ordered was really scrumptious and delectable so we enjoyed everything.
We decided to transfer to a table outside after so we can watch the show and so we can have our desserts.
They served this Indian sweets platter and I thought they were extremely delicious. There was one that I didn’t like but overall, I was impressed.
If you read what I just said about the food, you would think that they are expensive but to my surprise as well, they are really affordable. To give you an idea how much a dish costs, the kataifi prawn is only AED45 and the rest of the dishes at around AED55 to AED65. I really liked how they priced their offerings here.
Service is also excellent and we didn’t really wait that long for food to come. And all the waiters were knowledgeable about their products and were able to suggest and recommend what’s good especially for someone like me who’s not an expert on Indian cuisine.
To sum up, Peppermill is definitely a highly recommended restaurant in my book and I will come back here for sure. There’s a lot of good food to come back to and I’m sure that when you try it, you will agree with me. I’m giving it a high 5/5 rating because, for a newly-opened restaurant, they emphatically know what they’re doing not just with the dishes and the drinks but with the service as well.
