A good steak is to me one of the most unadulterated pleasures available to humans. Sometimes, I find myself just dreaming of a great tasting steak and I just wonder where to actually find it here in Dubai. I’ve tried a few good places but as much as possible, I want to explore every steakhouse there is in the city.
Good thing I discovered the Exchange Grill at the Fairmont Hotel in Sheikh Zayed Road. If you haven’t been, let me just say that this is one of the most beautiful hotels in the city with the friendliest and warmest staff to welcome you when you visit. It is also home to some of the best restaurants and bars like Cavalli, Catch, Noire and Bistrot Bagatelle to name a few.
Anyway, back to the Exchange Grill. The restaurant is I believe one of the true hidden gems when it comes to steakhouses and restaurants, in general. I know you may say that we always say that one restaurant is a hidden gem but this one definitely is and they have the awards to back it up. As a matter of fact, it has been recognized by Time Out Dubai as the city’s best steakhouse.
Upon entering the restaurant, you will immediately have this feeling of exclusivity and luxury when you see the chandeliers and the furniture that they use but on the other hand, it’s also funky when you turn around and look at the designs of the wall art. I say you get the best of both worlds when you dine in here.
When it comes to the food, I can easily say that this is one of the best dining experiences that I have ever had so far. The service was truly exceptional and the wait time for the food was good considering the fact that they are serving high-quality meat and grilled dishes. They were so precise that when we ordered the main courses, the waiter told us that we only had to wait 7 minutes more. It was quite impressive, to be honest.
So then let me show you what we ordered. I guess I don’t need to reiterate that the food was amazing and the steak literally was cooked to perfection. Every single element on the plate complemented each other and therefore leading to an exemplary dining experience.
We finished off our meal with their signature desserts. Each one looked like a masterpiece and you won’t believe that it only took them a few moments to prepare them. I loved it, of course especially that all looked Instagram-worthy.
To sum it up, if it’s not too obvious, I definitely loved the Exchange Grill experience. It’s the kind that makes you want to come back and try the other dishes too because what you had was just too good. For the price, expect to pay an average of AED200 per person for a very nice meal, impeccable service and unbeatable ambiance. I’m sure when you try, you will agree with me that it’s so worth it and you’ll be glad you did.
