Oktoberfest is once again upon us and if you are reading this, then you must be on the lookout for spots to celebrate this month-long occasion at. Luckily for you, I discovered this classic German bar called Hofbraühaus at the JW Marriott Hotel in Deira.
Authentically German from menu and music to decor, the restaurant and bar have been licensed from the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich. As you enter the place, you will understand what I’m talking about – the smell of a pub, the lively atmosphere, the matches playing on the screens and the entertainment provided by the band are all factors that contribute to the authenticity of the restaurant.
I came here because I was searching for the best places for Oktoberfest celebrations in Dubai and since the month has just started, I thought I’ll do everyone a favor and review the menu to see if it’s worth it or not.
So when I looked at the menu, I saw that they serve pork and it’s a good thing because it’s not just one dish but there was a lot to choose from. We asked for recommendations and ordered what we thought would be nice and when the food came, we were surprised by the amount of food that we got.
They serve hearty dishes that are good for sharing and if you look at the pictures below, you will see how huge the servings are. Not to go into details about the food but I can tell you that all of them were cooked perfectly especially the crispy pork knuckle that we tried. It’s amazing how they were able to bring pork in here and for a second, I thought I was in the Philippines and not in Dubai at all.
Of course, since we’re celebrating the Oktoberfest, it’s only fitting that we find the best beer in town and the one thing that’s very distinctive to Hofbrauhaus is the quality of their beers. I’m in no way a beer connoisseur but I know a good beer when I try one and theirs was probably one of the best-tasting beers that I’ve ever had.
Entertainment is sorted too because they have a live band playing when we were there and it’s nice to watch and listen to their take on our favorite songs and old classics.
All in all, we really enjoyed our dining (and drinking) experience at Hofbrauhaus. It’s very similar to the one in Germany according to my friend and it’s as authentic as it can get. We loved the food, the drinks, and the entertainment and it’s definitely one of the best places to celebrate Oktoberfest at.
