Le Cirque Dubai

Le Cirque is a fine dining restaurant located at a prime spot in the uber-sophisticated Ritz Carlton DIFC. Originally a dining destination in New York, it now finally made its way to the Middle East. They promise a French cuisine experience with a twist of Italian flair in the comfort of a sleek and sophisticated space.

I believe sophistication is the keyword that will probably be in your mind as you enter the restaurant. The bar is pretty impressive, the framed paintings are unique, the furniture and the overall interior design epitomizes grace and elegance.

As soon as we were seated, one of the wait staff already offered water and they gave us ample time to check the menu and decide what we wanted. I have to be honest and say that I had no idea what’s on the menu because written inside were dishes that I can’t even pronounce. So we just thought of asking for recommendations from them and we were dazzled by the fact that they were really knowledgeable about the products and were able to suggest some nice dishes for us.

Before we started eating, we ordered some drinks first and instead of choosing from the menu, we asked their bartender to prepare something nice and something we would enjoy. She asked us for our preference and we ended up getting these two drinks that I must say not only look great, they tasted amazing too.

For the starters, we had the Pois Sucrés. It is a salad made up of sugar snap peas, feta avocado and mustard dressing puffed quinoa. It’s very different from the usual salad and I like the crispy peas. Everything blends well and is really a nice combination of flavors in your mouth.

Next up was the Tomatoes au forage de chèvre which was surprisingly great as well. I love the sweet taste of tomatoes on top and the crispy crust at the bottom.

Last of the starters was the Noix de St. Jacques which is scorched scallops with sweet potato and coconut. This was my favorite out of the three simply because I like scallops and this is a particularly savory and sweet dish in one. I believe the potato complemented the scallops perfectly.

We ordered the main courses and while waiting, the resident musician started playing the piano and sang some really nice and soothing music. He covered some of the most popular songs but gave his own rendition of each. It’s safe to say everyone liked it as we were all clapping our hands after every song.

A few minutes later, the mains arrived and we can’t wait to indulge as they smelled really nice and the presentation was on point.

First up, the Gnocchi au salmon. This dish is special because unlike your usual gnocchi, this one is softer and they explained that they did that on purpose because the chef found it to be a great accompaniment to the salmon. I agree and I like it too.

The other main course was the classic Faux filet au Poivrei. The presentation looks like there’s a lot to devour but believe me, it was really tasty you won’t realize you finished everything already. It’s just that good and so far, I was super happy with the dining experience.

One of the remarkable things about the service at Le Cirque is their attention to details. Every time they serve the food, they explain it very well so we know what exactly we’re about to eat. They also know how to properly pace serving the food and I also noticed how they replenished our water after a few minutes or so.

When it was time for dessert, we had the crepes prepared beside our table. It was a very simple dish but the anticipation while they prepare it added to the appetite and itch to try it. Luckily, it was nice and we finished off with another dessert called Paris Brest which was equally sweet and is highly recommended.

So overall, the dining experience at Le Cirque was nothing short of incredible. I think what makes it really great is the fact that everything adds up from the fantastic food, faultless service and the comfortable and cozy atmosphere, not to mention the little touches like entertainment and the decor. This is definitely one of the best restaurants there is in DIFC or probably in Dubai. I love it that much, I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes or just hang around the bar for some great cocktails.
