The City Brunch is what I can describe as one of the most elaborate brunches in Dubai right now. It happens at the Seasonal Tastes restaurant at the beautiful Westin Dubai Hotel, Al Habtoor City. In a nutshell, expect 6 live cooking stations, areas to mingle, activities for adults and kids along with some entertainment from the chefs/DJ. It’s so much fun and definitely one of the nicest places to be seen.
The City Brunch is on every Friday so when I heard great things about it, I had to make sure I am able to actually try it for myself. For almost 4 hours from 1pm – 4:30pm, guests are treated to a massive selection of almost every kind of food there is out there.
It starts with the bread and salad station, the Arabic food station, cheese and cold cuts and the potatoes station where you can find different variations of potatoes.
Some remarkable live stations for me were the Indian station where you can find the staples like Pani Puri, biryani and samosas and my favorite is the Asian food station where the chefs offer freshly-made noodles prepared right in front of you. Everything tasted so good and you can really relish the freshness and flavor in every dish.
There’s also the Japanese food station and the seafood station where you can try some cold fresh catches of the day and you can opt to have them cooked (grilled specifically) to your liking. It’s really good and they serve it quickly too.
One of the hit stations I believe was the meat station where you can find almost every kind of meat cooked to perfection and with all the side dishes that you can ask for. Spoiling the guests for choice is one of the selling points of this brunch.
And for the guests who love to drink, there is a “Make-your-own-cocktail” station where you are given the freedom to pour as much spirit as you want in your drink. It’s pretty straightforward and I like this because even though they let you prepare your own concoction, there is a bartender by the side ready to help if you need something.
The entertainment, on the other hand, was sorted, thanks to the DJs that are also real chefs in the restaurant. Some of them were playing the tunes, some of them were doing magic tricks and some were juggling food and other things. It’s a nice touch that added to the fun at this brunch.
Lastly, there is also a huge station just for desserts that included ice cream, cakes, and pastries, waffles and pancakes. Make sure you leave some room for all these because the brunch is not complete if you won’t try them. I love their fried ice cream and the waffles with different kinds of syrups.
To sum up, the City Brunch is one of the brunches that placed a lot of effort in giving the guests what they want when it comes to food and entertainment. They focused on the quantity of the food without sacrificing the quality and everything was maintained fresh and delicious. The service is highly commended too because even though the place was packed, they were still very attentive to the needs of the guests. I would definitely want to come back for this brunch and I believe it’s a great option for when you’re looking for a fun, impressive and substantial Friday brunch.
