Axe House Dubai is a casual craft hop and dining concept serving up simple wholesome dishes, experimental cocktails with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. As you enter the place, you will immediately have that cool London spirit and the eclectic vibes of areas like Shoreditch, Dalston, and Hoxton.
Axe House is located in the basement of Armada Bay Hotel in JLT and was previously occupied by the now axed Cocktail Kitchen. After some renovation and ‘polishing’, it is now one of the coolest spots in JLT and I think it’s because of the fact that it’s brought to us by the same people behind my favorite bar, Lucky Voice.
One word that came to my mind when I entered the place was ‘chill’. I mean I’ve been here twice already and the first time was at night after work and the other during the day, for brunch. Both times, I noticed that everyone was just so relaxed and were just having a great time. The playlist was superb as well, they have a nice balance of old school and current bangers and most of the songs evoked nostalgia.
Offering the widest craft hops selection in Dubai and a seriously kick-ass bar team, Axe House is a home away from home not only for its JLT neighbors but also for those looking for a place where they can sit back and relax.
Axe House also have daily happy hours, weekly ladies night, Friday brunch, Saturday all-day breakfast brunch and plenty of dining deals on offer. It’s a perfect candidate to be your local.
The menu, of course, focuses on the artisanal market offerings reminiscent of London’s famous Borough Market but with added touches of London’s buzziest areas and foodie scenes. If you’re familiar with those, you will most definitely love the food here. To be honest, I am not but I absolutely enjoyed every dish that we ordered.
Check out some of the food that we tried when we came in after work like the mussels, Jerk chicken, Halloumi fries, black burger and more.
For the brunch, they offer sharing platters and unlimited drinks based on your package.
I would recommend this brunch not only because they serve the food that we want to eat during the weekend but also because it’s a fun brunch where you can just loosen up. Plus, it’s very affordable and it’s on the Entertainer so it doesn’t break the bank.
In addition to all these, they also have a small area where you can play pool or air hockey or simply watch a game. They also have a cool wall with graffiti and artwork which for me is a very Instagrammable spot.
They do desserts really well here too so expect sweet endings to your meal whenever you visit. My favorite would have to be the brownie that they served at brunch and you can’t go wrong with the chocolate dome.
All in all, I would recommend that you visit Axe House Dubai because it’s a place where you can feel at home and you’re always welcome with superb food and drinks and an amazing playlist that lets you laze and unwind no matter what day it is of the week.
